2025 Southeast Alaska Salmon Drift Gillnet And Purse Seine Task Force Meetings

The department holds annual meetings each year with fishery managers, fishery researchers, hatchery operators, fishermen, fishing organizations, processing company representatives, and any other interested parties to review the previous salmon season, discuss topics of importance for management of the fisheries, and plan for the following season. Task force meeting have rotated between communities to provide increased access and participation. This year, the Purse Seine and Drift Gillnet Task Force meetings will be held in Juneau, Alaska at the Douglas Island and Pink and Chum, Inc Ladd Macaulay Visitor Center.

Meetings will also be available via Zoom. To attend the meeting(s) via Zoom, a Zoom account or app is not needed. Participants can attend by clicking the below link, or entering the meeting link into a web browser, and registering for the meeting. Once registered, an email will be sent containing information about joining the meeting either virtually or telephonically.

Agendas for the drift gillnet and purse seine meetings will be developed in cooperation between the department and the United Southeast Alaska Gillnetters Association, the Southeast Alaska Fishermen’s Alliance, Southeast Alaska Seiners Association, and the Petersburg Vessel Owners Association. Those with suggested topics for discussion should contact these organizations or the department by November 15, 2025.
